I’m Lynda and I started my journey into photography seriously, in 2011 when I was made redundant.  Although I have been taking photos for many years I didn’t really know what I was doing and decided to learn more about what makes a good photograph and photographer.  It has been quite a journey so far.  I started with a 12 week Open University course followed by a diploma with the Photography Institute.  These were both great foundations for feeding my appetite for learning.  I joined the OCA in 2015 and although it has taken me longer than anticipated to get this far due to various reasons, not least a major house move from South West England back to my native North East, I can see an improvement in my photography.  It is challenging but enjoying and rewarding.

I love photography and really want to improve.  I am inspired by the talent here at the OCA and the camaraderie that exists in the various Facebook and OCA fora.  I have met some great people and enjoyed many photography trips and visits.

I am still searching for “my voice” and in the process enjoying the experience of learning about different genres.  I lean toward landscapes but having hated street photography I now enjoy trying to get really good candid shots.  I have dabbled a bit in macro and this is an area I would like to explore more in the future.  My post production editing is still improving as is my ability to think more laterally and creatively.

I am looking forward to the onward journey and all that it will bring.
